“Kim did an amazing job with our elopement, and helped to make it feel special! She guided us with posing in a way that felt natural and comfortable and even scouted a beautiful second location that made our photos even more incredible. She went above and beyond in every way and we couldn't be happier with the experience or our sneak peaks. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented, thoughtful and dedicated photographer.”

Frequently Asked questions

The first step is deciding on your ideal location and season! Your location will determine the best season, weather conditions, and permit requirements. Once you have a general timeframe, then lock in your photographer (hey, that’s me!). I can help with timing and show you the secret spots that make your day magical. Let’s start planning!

Do I need an officiant and a marriage license?

Yes, to both! You can hire a local officiant who specializes in elopements or choose someone meaningful to you who is authorized to officiate. I am ordained and available. Oregon, Washington, and Idaho requires a marriage license, which can be obtained at any county clerk’s office. Residency is not required and you can easily waive the waiting period. The fees vary from county to county, but the general range is $50 to $100.

Are there any extra fees I should budget for?

Aside from your elopement photography package, some fees you should budget for are your travel, accommodations, vendors, and any extra adventure you plan. There are several international and smaller airports scattered throughout the Northwest. A PNW elopement means driving to remote places, so a rental car is a good idea. The PNW hosts plenty of boutique hotels and Airbnb’s that offer luxurious amenities and stunning views. There are plenty of vendors that provide high rated services; whether it’s hair, makeup, or florals, I can help you find what you need. For the adventurous hearts who want the full PNW experience, there are chartered boat rides, horseback riding on beaches, helicopter tours, and whale watching! If vendor or adventure recommendations are needed, I'm here to make your PNW elopement stress-free!

How should I plan for the weather?

Planning for PNW weather is key to having a stress-free elopement! The coast, mountains, and rivers can be unpredictable; it could be sunny, rainy, and cloudy all within one hour! I have lived in the PNW most of my life and here are some ways to be prepared: bring layers! Mornings and evenings can get chilly and windy. Always have a “rain plan.” It could sprinkle or storm at any moment, so having rain gear or an umbrella handy is important. I carry umbrellas to all my elopements, so you don’t have to worry about packing one!

When will I receive my images?

Reliving your elopement experience can be exhilarating and nostalgic so I work hard to deliver your special memories as quickly as possible. Full galleries usually contain about 100 images per hour shot and are delivered within 4-6 weeks. Because I know the wait can be daunting, sneak peaks are delivered within 24 hours. Your images will be hosted in a private online gallery where you can download, share, and even order prints of your favorite moments!

I love the PNW, but we want to elope in Utah. Can I still book you?

Absolutely! While I specialize in PNW elopements, I also LOVE capturing love stories in the other beautiful places! Whether you're dreaming of saying your vows in Big Sur, Moab, or Colorado, I’m totally in! My approach remains the same; helping you plan an epic, stress-free elopement in a stunning location. So, whether it’s misty coastal cliffs or alpine peaks, I’d be honored to document your adventure. Let’s start planning your dream elopement!

How many hours of photography do we need?

When choosing your photography package, it’s important to consider the length of time it takes to get from location to location and get a variety of shots. Trails, tide schedules, and weather conditions are all important factors. My most booked package is the full day package offering 8 hours of coverage, which delivers a premium, unhurried experience at multiple scenic locations.
