You’ve decided to elope on the West Coast and Cannon Beach keeps coming up. You’ve seen all the beautiful images of its famous haystack and loving couples frolicking on the beach. But you’re not sure about the specifics. As a local elopement photographer, allow me to share a secret with you…Cannon Beach is nothing special; it’s just famous. As a local, I know the ins and outs of eloping on the Oregon Coast, like where to stay, where to eat, how to actually elope legally, and how to create an experience, not just a photo shoot. Hi I’m Kim. I’m a local PNW elopement photographer and I help couples create their entire elopement experience on the Oregon Coast. I help couples plan intentional, intimate experiences beyond the typical beach spots. I know the tides, weather, hidden locations, and trusted vendors, so you don’t have to stress.

So, without further ado, here is why I think you should consider the central coast over Cannon Beach:
Intimate Setting.
If you skipped the traditional wedding because the idea of being on display for everyone makes you anxious, than the central Oregon Coast is right up your alley. The central coast is less crowded so you’ll have it to yourself. My couples get access to super-secret locations I have scouted over the years and you’ll get that “slowed down quiet” feeling everyone dreams of for a coastal elopement. Here’s the Process

Epic Views.
The only ‘epic view’ you’ll get at Cannon Beach is the haystack. Honestly, haystacks are common and can be found from Washington to California But on the central Oregon Coast there are so many beautiful haystacks you can climb on and run around with no crowd to share them with. The views from cliffs and the rugged beaches are awe inspiring. It’s not just one view, its beach after beach of stunning views!

Variety.
The northern coast is generally the same…sandy beaches, rolling fields of seagrass, and haystacks. Drive a few hours south and you find rocky shoals, sandy beaches, sand dunes, lighthouses, tide pools, coastal rainforests, and whales! I’m also pretty sure there are mermaids there. As an Oregon Coast elopement photographer, I create timelines of the entire experience with my couples that represent them. Here’s How

You know you want to look back on your pictures and feel the experience. You want them to capture the salty wind and the sound of waves crashing as you exchange your vows. The last thing you want to remember are the unleashed dogs running towards you and random strangers from Portland interrupting to ask if you’re getting married. As a local Oregon Coast elopement photographer, I help my couples select the perfect location and create a timeline that feels like you. Check out the Packages
